Tsar Fedorsky

When I was invited to participate in A Yellow Rose Project, I did not hesitate to take part. I thought about the 19th Amendment and the many women, and men, who fought hard over the span of many years to make it happen.

I was reminded of the ongoing struggles that women face to gain equal pay, achieve personal safety, have our voices heard during the #MeToo movement, crash the glass ceilings, and fight against voter suppression. We are still waiting for the first female President … It is indeed an ongoing journey. I knew that the only way I could approach this project was to make it personal. While there is much still to do, I am aware of the opportunities I have had in my lifetime compared to those that were not available to my mother and grandmother. It is a continuum and we must not stop fighting for equal rights and opportunities.
